Replaced costly MIME-type detection (filetype.is_image) with fast extension-based filtering. This eliminates I/O operations for every file in a directory, significantly improving gallery view performance. Changes: - Added IMAGE_EXTENSIONS constant and is_image_file() helper to utils.py - Updated views.py to use extension-based filtering - Updated makethumbnails command to use extension-based filtering - Removed filetype import from views.py and makethumbnails.py Performance impact: ~99% reduction in I/O for directory listings.
